Good post, love your page! I’m a coach myself, trying to get better every day and doing some promoting via my Instagram (not yet Instagram coach status 🤣). Is there any certifications you’d recommend in particular?

Thanks! When I'm looking for expert coaches to interview, there are three main certifications I look for: USATF, RRCA, and/or UESCA (I have RRCA and UESCA). There are others, but those are the most well-known, IMO. I don't believe you should be selling coaching services without one of those certs (and insurance to protect you!).

One more question: Any certification in particular you’d recommend for someone who’s been coaching (both self and others) for a few years now and has a solid base-level understanding of training? It seems UESCA may be best for complete beginners, albeit that’s not to say i’d benefit a lot from the course.

Awesome, thanks for that insight. Any reason in particular you chose to do the latter two certifications instead of USATF?

I chose those two because USATF seemed more geared at coaching in schools or on a competitive level. UESCA is nice because it's completely self-led (with really great materials you can refer back to) and rooted in a lot of anatomy/physiology, whereas RRCA requires a two-day Zoom or in-person seminar/workshop and is more about training application. I did both because they were very complementary.
